As we begin the next twenty-five years of the founding of the Northeastern Society of Plastic Surgeons, I find it helpful to look back over the accomplishments of our specialty since I first opened my practice. I have seen the dawn of free-flap surgery and it’s emergence to levels that could scarcely be imagined three decades ago, the application in composite tissue allografts as discussed in the opening panel of our twenty-fifth meeting.
